Before documenting weddings, I made it a point to donate part of the proceeds from exhibits to a noble cause. I’ve enjoyed continuing that idea with weddings and Kiva. Fifteen percent of every couple’s deposit goes to new loans at Kiva.org, and the funds are re-loaned as they’re paid back.
Kiva is a non-profit that works with organizations around the world to provide affordable financing and business support to entrepreneurs in developing countries. The loans provide working capital that include a sewing machine, livestock, inventory, a tractor. And the entrepreneurs are a bit more empowered to work their way out of poverty.
Thanks to our wedding clients, we’ve been able to loan to over 440 entrepreneurs in 48 countries.
And every wedding we document enriches the world a bit more.
